A single-digit DD plate fetched AED 37 million at the charity auction inside the Burj Khalifa — the fourth most expensive plate ever sold in Dubai.
On 7 March 2026, a single-digit plate bearing the code DD and the number 6 sold for AED 37 million inside the Armani Hotel at the Burj Khalifa. The sale was the standout lot of the Most Noble Number charity auction, an evening that raised AED 1.136 billion for the Edge of Life campaign to rescue five million children from hunger worldwide.
The DD 6 plate became the fourth most expensive plate ever sold in Dubai, behind P 7 (AED 55 million, 2023), Abu Dhabi No. 1 (AED 52.2 million, 2008) and AA 9 (AED 38 million, 2021). Bidding climbed through AED 20 million, AED 25 million and AED 30 million within minutes before closing at AED 37 million.
The nine DD plates offered by the RTA in collaboration with Emirates Auction generated AED 81.5 million in total. The result follows DD 5’s AED 35 million sale at the same event in 2025, a 5.7 per cent year-on-year appreciation for comparable single-digit plates.
